Get to know the doctors:

Michele M. Sweet , DVM, Jessica L. Bruns, DVM, Melinda M. Ertel, DVM, and Benjamin R. Fields, DVM, Megan L. Fields, DVM

Dr. Michele Sweet is originally from Hope, Indiana. Majoring in Biology as an undergraduate, she went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Science at Purdue University in 1993.

Dr. Sweet and her husband Steve enjoy a busy family life with their four children – Sarah, Aaron, Matthew, and Joseph. Their place is also home to two dogs, three cats, a goat, and a pot-bellied pig. She enjoys sporting events, hiking, reading, and teaching Sunday School.

She is a member of the AVMA, the IVMA, and a supporter of the ASPCA

Dr. Jessica Bruns was born and raised in the Greensburg area.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hanover College, majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry.  Pursuing graduate studies, Dr. Bruns attended the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her doctorate in May of 2018.

Dr. Bruns enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, and kayaking.  She is interested in photography, and also grew up showing 4-H rabbits, a hobby she continues to enjoy.  Her other pets include a beautiful Persian cat named Oliver, Gunner, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a Doberman named Ruger and another cat by the name of Tigger.

Dr. Bruns is a member of the AVMA and the IVMA.

Dr. Ben Fields is a native of West Lafayette, Indiana and grew up just outside of Purdue University playing football and showing cattle in 4-H. He graduated in 2018 from Purdue with a B.S. in Business Management and a minor in Biology. Ben went on to earn his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Purdue in 2022.

Dr. Field’s interests are primarily in beef cattle production and small animal medicine and surgery, but he enjoys the diverse case load that a mixed-animal practice has to offer.

In his free time, Ben enjoys spending as much time as possible with friends and family and following Purdue sports.

Dr. Fields is a member of the AVMA.

Dr. Megan Fields is originally from the Greensburg area and attended North Decatur High School. After obtaining a B.S. in Animal Sciences, she went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University in 2023.

Dr. Megan’s interests include bovine, equine, and canine reproduction as well as large animal general practice. In her free time, she enjoys riding horses, running, biking, and reading as well as spending time with her husband, Dr. Ben, and Golden Retriever, Wally.

Dr. Megan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, American Embryo Transfer Association, and American Association of Bovine Practitioners.
